Description
Name: Cloud Chaser
Race: Pegasus
Job: Mechanist (MCH)
Sub-Job: None
Weapon Type: Blunderbuss
Hometown: Ponyville
Residence: The Luna’s Wings
The Wonderbolts are the most prestigious and skilled flight team in the Solar lands. That means not everyone who works hard at it makes the cut. Cloud Chaser learned this the hard way. Her flight technique didn’t make up for her subpar speeds in the air. She was always last in the pack during bootcamp, and ultimately she was asked to leave. She spent a month or two trying to get back up on her feet emotionally. The pegasus had to find a new outlet, and more importantly, take some time away from her hometown. All it did was bring her down.
Cloud Chaser looked for new employment in Canterlot since the train ride there is short. What she found was a well paying job that even covers living expenses. It was too good to pass up. From that moment on, she’s learned that sometimes “too good to pass up” can also mean “too good to be true.” Her new career has her running and maintaining the “Luna’s Wings,” a privately owned airship made to celebrate good tidings between the Solar and Lunar lands since the return of Princess Luna. Her boss, Cider Night (Cid for short), was desperately looking for a crew after her original crew quit in protest to learning this ship was an olive branch to their Lunar neighbors following the Curse of Eternal Night, and Chaser was desperate enough for a job she’s never trained for.
The pegasus’ life on the Luna’s Wings is a hectic one. Something on the ship needs to be looked at every morning, and while there are more than enough tools to handle the job, she had to go through her manuals and books provided to get anything done. This made her very slow at the start, but as the months wore on, she got the hang of things and can get many tasks done in two shakes of a ponytail. Cloud Chaser now has a pretty nice depth of knowledge for engines and machinery due to her maintenance of the airship’s complex mechanisms.
There are a few guests who utilize the ship like the Warriors and whoever they decide to drag along, but in off times, the Luna’s Wings functions as a fancy air ferry ride between the two capital cities. The top decks and lounges are often filled with passengers enjoying company or the sights. Even many pegasi enjoy the trip since it’s no burden on the wings, but they can still enjoy the sights. The lower cabins function vaguely like a hotel, and one of the long term guests has even become Cloud Chaser’s bestie, even if she lives a bit of a dicey lifestyle.
Fiery Blunderbuss - A blunderbuss that doubles as a flaregun issued to her by her employer Cid in case she ever gets separated from the Airship she performs on board maintenance on. It was actually issued to her as a simple flaregun, but she’s modified it multiple times since since she’s received it. It can load custom cartridges for different elemental shots with rather dazzling effects.
Wonderbolt Gloves - gloves she received as a new Wonderbolt recruit. She ultimately didn’t make the cut to even become a full member, but she keeps it as a reminder that shortcomings happen. Chaser does her best to learn from her own mistakes or make an opportunity come from it instead of moping around like she did for the months she spent depressed after getting cut.
