The Dino-minder was no longer able to be held off by the explosion
 
All the injuries the demon healed for Mikoto opened up
 
Topugera took Mikoto so that the explosion can go off harmlessly in space
 
Mikoto died of blood loss

Dino Thunder’s Trent Mercer has got nothing compared to Abaranger’s Nakadai Mikoto (Plus he died while Trent didn’t, that’s what makes it more gut wrenching).
 
Even Applejack (Who’s probably the toughest out of the group) is making a few tears, that’s how powerful Mikoto’s death is.
