I disagree - in fact I think it is one of the most sense making ships out there!
Reasons?
Both are diligent workers, both are practically physical embodiments of their races, and both are introverted while not entirely unsocial. Additionally, Big Mac could likely serve as a stable ground for Twilight when she has her anxiety attacks.
One should always ship foils, but they have so very little in common. I can see them dating for a while, but it wouldn’t last.
I would probably throw books at her though.
