Wouldn’t it make more sense for the heavy pone to be an Earthen pone than a unicorn or whatever? If I recall, the lore of the show describes the wingless, hornless ones as being more physically-oriented than the other two sub-races.
 
Learning ANY magic is a big deal too, even for the average unicorn. Only those trained and educated in a magical academy would’ve viably learned more than a supremely basic utility spell or two.

I actually dont mind alicorn OC,s but they have to have some compleinng things about them  
Like one of mine(I still dont have name for witch I hate)  
he,s dumber then a bag of hammers but hes tougher too,hes kind of a retard but he makes up for that with being super strong(as in muscles)He cant fit through doorwaysdue to his size (hes like the size of 5 big macs or2)  
He is also very sensitive to emotional pain,he,s also very friendly he really is just a big softie,Hes loyal to his Friends and every pony(that doesn’t hurt his Friends).Hes not skilled in magic he only knows like 5 spells a shield a couple of magic grenades And healing and a beam of energy(also levitation)
