Up until “Rainbow Falls,” that was almost all we had to go on. All we knew about Best Pony was that she liked muffins, she was accident-prone, and she could pop up in unexpected places. Nothing else. “Slice of Life” did a lot to flesh her out, which is one of the reasons why I like it so much.

It’s true, but most characters can be summed up in a few simple traits. Memes aren’t advanced enough to carry too much imformation, and the ones that are simpler to pass on usually win out by just natural selection.
