Why did THIS image get all the downvotes?
There are hundreds of others which I thought would be equally disliked.
But no, they all have positive scores.

You make a good point. Millions of Jews died during the Holocaust, and (only) a couple thousand died in the 9/11 attacks.

However, even outside of the concept of “too soon,” 9/11 is emotionally closer to most Americans than the Holocaust. I mean, the US (especially our generation) is pretty sheltered from such tragedy. However, most of us were alive and can remember how people were reacting right after it happened.

It’s not like we think the Holocaust was a hoax or anything. But the 9/11 attacks struck a chord with us as Americans. We could identify with that, because most of the users here are Americans.

However, only a portion of Americans are Jewish.

Derpibooru isn’t an American site, but it’s frequented by (likely) mostly Americans. You don’t go to a Jewish site/community and post jokes about the Holocaust, because they would be offended. Since there are a lot of Americans here, we see it as being in poor form.

So yeah, you have a point, but I don’t feel as strongly about some tragedies emotionally even when I can objectively say that they are much more atrocious.
