Might be a writer’s oversight.
Yeah, I remember noticing a certain pony was missing and tracking down the screenshot you had edited. You would have gotten away with it too, except for at least one fan, Applejack isn’t a background pony. ;)
To be fair, once DC realized that Liefeld was poison after he singlehandedly killed three books (Hawk & Dove, Hawkman, Deathstroke), especially since the former helped make his career, they more or less booted his ass or at least made it so he never wanted to work there again.
Then he said that Snyder & Capillo’s success was only because of Batman.
But Anderson is writing the Siren’s oneshot… that’s disappointing.
I really think that, at best, Anderson should have been reassigned to another book after he stuck his foot in his mouth and revealed his insincerity. Curnow shocked me with how much of a terrible person by not only refusing to do anything about it and getting his forum mods to censor any topic about the drama, but using his father’s cancer as an excuse for not answering questions.
Wasn’t a big fan of the 2014 Power Ponies Annual, and it was bittersweet that one of Ben Bates’ last comics works was with a subpar story. The Holiday Special was a particular kind of awful, and I honestly pity Fleecs for being the one to draw it. The Wrestle issue and the RD/Spitfire FF were crap, through and through, and again I pity Fosgitt for having the sh*tty luck of having his first two Pony works with such a hack.
I’ll fully admit that Ted had some great earlier works. But Ken Penders of Sonic fame and M. Night Shyamalan were lauded early in their careers as well; but look at where they are now.
…It’s just that I forgot who voices her :( Not gonna lie, she became one of faves with her constant Deadpan Snarking xP Also, Maryke is So-not-a big deal without Aria to counterpart her.
And Aria once again gets no love…
Actually half of it from Kazumi Evans and half of it from Maryke Hendrikse.
I think the more likely reason is that 90% of the Dazzling’s appeal came from Kazumi Evans.
Well… yeah. People fell for this one I made:
Which ultimately came true anyways lol. I HAD THE LAST LAUGH AFTER ALL, NEIGHSAYERS!
And yet tons of people actually fell for it…
Normally I’d agree, but it was pretty blatantly obvious that it was fake.
It happened in October of last year.
Wasn’t it an April Fool’s joke, or something? I can’t remember. I’ve seen people do worse pranks before.
Plus, honestly, I kinda figured it was a joke.
I still think that time when he pretended that his account had been hacked was a real dick move on his part…
It’s hard to say how he feels about the fans/bronies, he never even comments on the reblogs. So I’ve never seen him say anything negative, or positive about bronies. At least, he’s not downright hating on us, like Ponett, and some weirdos on Tumblr are.
Still, the things he reblogs do raise eyebrows.
@Jarkes
I don’t think Fury Belle’s artist is that “sexist” really. While he does tend to exaggerate a bit, I have seen some Tumblr psuedo-feminist SJWs almost as bad as the ones he parodies.
@Jarkes
Yeah I avoid Fury Belle like the plague.
Yeah, I’m not fond of Fury Belle either, but I REALLY lost respect for the artist of that comic after he pretended his account had been hacked by a straw-SJW that basically covered every stereotype of those people, and then an hour later was like, “lul fooled you all I’m hilarious :D”. I can’t help but think that the Fury Belle artist is legitimately sexist.
That says some things about DC if even Rob Liefeld dosen’t like the way they are handling things.
Actually, Liefeld left the comic industry a few years ago because he disliked how DC is currently running things.
And after relating her sob story, that old-school fan urged other old-school fans to retaliate against bronies, saying they should be insulted and harassed until they were driven from the fandom. (And that is what I can’t stand about Tedly, the fact that he approves of insulting, stereotyping, and mocking those he feels are part of the “oppressors”, all in the name of “culture jamming” and “empowerment”.) He also reblogged the story accusing some California brony convention (BABScon?) of doing nothing to protect a girl being stalked by a brony pedophile, but never reblogged or mentioned the con’s or the girl’s mother’s response. I recall him reblogging a couple more anti-brony posts, but can’t remember the specifics.
Anyway, that’s why I was asking for any instance where he had positive things to say about bronies. All the anti-brony stuff he’s reblogged could be explained as him pointing out bad behavior within the fandom that we need to be more vocal in opposing, but it could also be that he just views the fandom as a whole in those terms; given what I’ve read from him and what I’ve seen him reblog, I would have to lean towards the latter, unless someone can show me something that goes against that conclusion.
I can understand that. I think Ken Penders is a jerk, but I still like his works on the official Sonic comic. (Though, admittedly I’m glad he was replaced by Ian Flynn, whom most Sonic fans feel improved the series.)
@Starlight Storm
I think that is pretty much the case with him unfortunately. It doesn’t make him a “better” person, but I doubt he, or anyone at IDW, DHX, or Hasbro are aware of all the tensions between bronies, and pseudo-feminist SJWs who constantly demonize them.
I think Ted just naively sees Cuteosphere as some feminist girl standing up for herself, and her gender in a male-dominated society, rather then the backwards-sexist, hate-mongering, bigot she is. (I mean, c’mon. How is drawing Fluttershy saying, “I hate all boys” supposed to “empower” women? That just makes more misogyny ironically.)
Judging by Ted’s remarks, he doesn’t seem aware that women can be sexist to.
I don’t think he understands the big deal with her, her agenda, or who she really is.
Some people who support the pseudo-feminist SJWs are like that, and not necessarily as hateful as the people they support. (In fact, I never really saw any proof of Ted saying anything bad about bronies. Aside from reblogging some odd sob-story a girl had about her experiences with bronies.)
So I don’t think Ted is “pure evil,” (he’s definitely not as bad as kiss-ups like Ponett, now THAT guy is a prick) but I don’t think he’s a saint either. I really have no reason to hate him, nor like him. I don’t know the guy personally.
Liking him? Perhaps not. Liking his work? If it’s actually decent or really good, even if the guy is a jerk, you must admit he did at least something nice.
Ninja’d. I refer you to this
I always read too deeply into things. It’s my nature. I honestly think you’re giving him too much benefit of the doubt; why the hell would anyone jump into the midst of the people who were calling to have him fired and try to joke around? It was either intentional, or the guy is borderline retarded, because there is no way that was going to come off as anything other than this.
Besides, my point remains valid. There is quite honestly nothing about that guy that is even remotely likeable. Why should the fans of this franchise just up and embrace the guy with open arms? Yeah I know what someone’s going to say: bigger man this and mature that, but people aren’t like that. I’m actually curious if anyone has a pragmatic reason to like anything about Ted.
