Later…
Principal Celestia: Mr. Rich. Been a good boy, lately?
Filthy Rich: Um, yes. Very, very good.
Vice Principal Luna: I see your wife straightened you out.
Cue EQG Spoiled Rich, wearing a fancy dress and carrying a Pomeranian in her arms.
Spoiled Rich: I certainly did.
He’s all ready really tall by comparison.
Diamond Tiara is a head shorter than these girls.
True, but it becomes irritating when all they in common is their name and wealth.
Well it’s understandable in EQG’s case because it has been established that while the humans do have their own similarities to their pony counterparts they aren’t meant to be carbon copies of them.
To be fair, he was nice in some comics, but yeah…
Makes me curious what EqG/human Tiara is like (who has never even talked yet) considering sometimes she looks evil, and others she looks sweet.
I agree that Filthy seems like a nice guy, and is something that I can support. There is also a comic that has him thinking that the CMC are the bullies, and tries comforts Diamond. Funny how the show is making him the “good” guy, and the comics and EQG series are just making him a rich douche.
I kinda prefer Filthy being portrayed as “not a saint,” but not downright evil. Like in “Where the Apple.” He was shown to be a bit brash when he was younger, but not a downright bad person, or snob like Spoiled. I kinda like the idea of Tiara having a nice parent, as that kinda hints where her hidden “good” side came from.
In Filthy’s first appearance in “Family Appreciation Day,” he was shown to be quite nice, and Tiara was the only child in class who didn’t find him boring, and it looked like she downright adored him. He also didn’t seem pleased when his daughter was laughing at Granny Smith, and he also helped fight the Tantabus. So I don’t buy that “evil glare” he gave in “Crusaders of the Lost Mark.” (Could’ve just been due to the writer not being familiar with Filthy from previous eps.)
I just tire of the cliché sometimes that “he’s got cash so he’s evil.”
@Nymphonomicon
Would’ve been nice for her to cameo, I was actually a li’l disapointed the CMC hardly get to do anything in the EqG movies too.
Japed hard.
Maybe he saw how much we hated Blue, and gave him a chance.
Well, he didn’t look too pleasant during DT’s song sequence in Crusaders of the Lost Mark. Him and Spoiled RIch together in that one shot seemed to imply that DT didn’t have a happy home life from either of her parents… But I guess Where the Apple Lies might go back on that.
Interestingly, in the comics, he’s actually portrayed as a pretty nice guy (but a clueless and spoiling parent) in the Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon Friends Forever issue. (It seems he’s under the impression thanks to Diamond that the Cutie Mark Crusaders bully her!)
This was written by Jeremy Whitley, the same guy who would later portray Prince Blueblood in a more likable/positive light in the Blueblood and Shining Armor Friends Forever.
On the other hand, EqG Tiara seems nicer than pony Tiara. Alternate universes are weird, man.
I find it funny that the show canon Filthy is a nice guy, and the movie/comic Filthy are jerks.
“DADDY! What is this?!”
“D-Diamond?! Wh… Where’d you find that?”
“In your office! Were you going to tear down Camp Everfree?!”
“Um… maybe?”
“(gasp) How could you?! You KNOW how much I was looking forward to going next year!”
“B-But Diamond, honey, part of the reason I did this was for YOU. Wouldn’t you rather spend your summer vacation in a relaxing spa instead of… you know… outside?”
“Absolutely not! I’m going with Silver Spoon and Apple Bloom and Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle, and we’re gonna roast marshmallows and sing campfire songs and have pillow fights and race canoes, because that’s what good friends do, and it’s gonna be AWESOME!”
“…You sure you’re my daughter?”
“DADDY!!!”
“S-Sorry, sweetie…”
Yeah, Tabitha was also Sprite the fairy in the Zelda cartoon that was shown on the “Super Mario Super Show.” (Though credited as Paulina Gillis, an alias, sense some didn’t use their real names for voice acting. Dustin Hoffman & Michael Jackson did too, when they appeared in the early days of the Simpsons)
Not to mention Tara Strong was Hip/Lemmy & Hop/Iggy, 2 other Koopalings. (Credited with her maiden name Charrondoff.) I hear both Tara & Tabitha were teens when they began doing voice work.
I think it would be wonderful if they did a Kootie-Pie throwback to her earlier voice work. That was quite a while ago.
@Evil Emperor Proteus
There’s a much different “story” in the source, but I think I prefer your’s where Tiara is like Kootie-Pie/Wendy Koopa. (Yes, I know said character was voiced by Rarity.)
Edited
Yeah… Doing that last bit to Diamond is going to attract the attention of some powerful (in the literal sense) people that he doesn’t want to fuck with.
See, that’s why EqG abuse stories like this tend to lose their impact for me. None of these abusers are either A) live very long, thus removing the potent tragedy from the story, or B) stupid enough to try, this no story.
See, if it had ended with just the destruction of the camp, it would have been believable… Ish. He’s certainly get dirty looks, and Diamond would be devastated, but she’d otherwise would be fine. The social isolation at the end though? That wouldn’t stand.
Filthy Rich: “Daddy tried ta get the land sweetie, but if they make their payments their aint nuthin’ ah can do.”
Diamond Tiara: “You promised me my own spa in time for my birthday!”
My little tax deduction xD I love it
There are a rather large number of your comments that ask this question. No, this is fan art.
No. I wish.
