I’d like to think Twilight would have found some reason to seek him out by now were that so.

Super magical ponies like Starswirl and Twilight may only die if they want to, considering time travelling and aging spells and all the other magical craziness that goes on in Equestria.

I’m 99% sure Starswirl is alive in some shape or form
