@Rainboom Dash
oh wow.. back when Derpi didn’t have webm support lol
To correct myself since I’ve learned far more since then, Gfycat isn’t the best since it uses VP8
VP8 sucks
Sure, it’s still way better than gifs.. but VP9 can get half or even a third the file size for similar quality a lot of times.. it’s also almost impossible to reach full transparency with VP8 and it will almost always alter the colors quite a bit
@Exedrus
APNG is very similar to a gif and it’s 24-bit instead of 256 colors AND the file size is smaller but it doesn’t have much support (Doesn’t work in Chrome without an add-on) sigh
And MNG is even better than APNG and is very similar to a gif but again very little support…
Webm(gfycat) is still the best due to the interframe compression

mmm, this is pretty dreamy~
It was created decades ago and not designed for extensibility, what do you want from it?

Eeeeeeyup. The GIF file format is hilariously bad.
The struggle is real! XD
Well on this site only 23mb but still… 23mb>1mb AND the gfy version isn’t limited to 256 colors?
Seriously?
