Journal of the Two Sisters. Well, the Crystal Ponies technically took the Crystal Heart from the mountains of what they believed to be a legendary dragon who happened to be very real. The weird thing that’s implied about Equestrian dragons is that they’re totally sapient and capable of complex thought and speech. When the Crystal Ponies/Celestia and her armies marched into the cave and demanded the Crystal Heart, the dragon said he would have just given it to them if they weren’t such belligerent and uncaring jerks who were not even actually attempting diplomacy.

Where is that? Never heard of it and that’s kind of weird. Dragons of western mythos are always fiery tempered creatures that tend to steal and hoard from humans. Why would the ponies think stealing from creatures several times their size, can breath fire, and all sorts of things was a good idea?
 
This raises further questions.

According to EU material, dragons have a pretty valid reason to hate ponies: they bother them and constantly steal their shit, and treat them like beasts. So they act like what ponies treat them like.

Ah yes, Dragon Quest. The episode that said, in over a thousand years, not one pony thought to study dragons. Not one thought to talk to dragons. Not one bloody book about a species that literally gathers by the hundreds, perhaps thousands, to fly over said country.
 
Fluttershy was scared of dragons. It’s not surprising she doesn’t know much about them. As well, Twilight just walked up to a dragon to talk to him so casually like it was always an option. Wouldn’t have somepony else done the same?
 
It should be noted that Zecora was quickly able to tell what was wrong with Spike, so it’s also a fact that zebras apparently are much braver and smarter than ponies when it comes to dragons.
 
Dragon Quest isn’t a terrible episode, nor bad. It’s just has stupid points and the classic ‘teen boys are violent/stuff’ cliche.

-There’s virutally no books about them. Not a single one in Twilight’s library: Fact.  
-Not even one of the biggest experts on creatures knew they could talk before she met Spike: Fact.
 
There is just no way in hell dragontown is an actual thing.

This argument is going nowhere. And yes, I made that comparison. I can go places if there are similarities.

Seeing pics are nice and all. I look at things that make no sense

Dragons could make a pony-style city on their own if they wanted to. If they have enough resources to convince ponies to do that, they could make their own city.

The Diamond dogs seemed to be copying Equestria models and their ‘monarchy’ was thrust on Trixie because she found a lot of gems. They aren’t that smart.
 
It could very well be that the ponies gave the dragons that part of the city because it’s out of view and out of mind. Similar situation with blacks in America in the earlier parts of it’s history.

The Diamond Dogs have a whole city and a monarchy that has relations with other groups. Dragons have a little neighborhood in a pony city. Considering that the Dragontown dragons held pony culture and norms in high regard, (they did by default forming the city and putting it near ponies, they are not living like dragons usually do) it is strange they didn’t just make their own settlement.

Well, dragons in Dragontown sure aren’t helping that opinion of his.

This is inaccurate, as it was not his opinion regarding his identity that Mina objected to, but his opinion that dragons are inferior to ponies by default…

To be honest, this is not a major issue with this, well, issue. That fungus plot twist was interesting to say the least. Spike and Zecora had this kindred spirit subplot going on with them not getting infected unlike everybody else and then suddenly “LOL! FOOD POISONING!”  
It’s kind of like that fire snail thing in that other comic, just a weird twist ending that makes you go: this is what we’re going with? Okay.
 
Honestly, this issue isn’t bad, there’s just nothing really to it. I just finished reading it and I’ve already forgotten half of the things that happened.

With other lines it looks like he is giving up on being a dragon to the point of delusion. I chalk it up to bad writing. In more ways than one.

I’m guessing what he meant was that since he grew up with ponies, it never occurred to him just how different they were. It’s still a strange line, but it could be explained that way.

Again, for him to completely throw out either of his natures strips him of the nuance and interesting stories that you could tell. That’s why it was weird to me.

I think this is a bit of an odd line. Sure, Spike hasn’t always got along with the dragons he’s met, but at the same time he’s been pretty consistently shown to view and refer to himself as a dragon, as well as take some pride in that. More so than the other way around. In fact, the only line remotely close to him saying he thinks of himself as a pony in canon has him saying: I may have been born a dragon, but my pony friends have taught me this, that and the other thing. And this was only after his migration adventure not too terribly long ago, assuming it really has been a little over a year since he and Twilight moved to Ponyville.  
So for him to say this now seems a little out of place.

Ehh…Alright. I mean, I used to hate Rainbow Dash when I got in around season 1. I’ve come to really like her, not one of my favorites, but I like her well enough.
