I don't consider Venom Black Metal, I mean they do have a album called "Black Metal" but it was released prior to Mayhem (with I believe is the technical start point of black metal).


 
I think I remember something about Mayhem saying they inspired them self on Venom and the new genre name on Venom's album, with also implies venom is not technically black metal... (Edit) at lest prior to Mayhem (including the "Black Metal" Album)
