@Background Pony #C19D
Well she does use a tome of dark magic called “the Unicornomicon” (a book that, BTW, may or may not be possessed by some manner of goat-skull demon) and has developed a significantly darker coat and mane than the rest of her pure-white forest-dwelling do-nothing pacifist race, but she believes that Dark Magic has just as much potential to be used for good as Light Magic if used properly.
@Marnssj Allow me to describe each character as accurately as possible.
Pom is basically Fluttershy’s scaredy-cat side personified.
Arizona is like Applejack but is younger and more naive.
Velvet is like Trixie if Trixie had Rarity’s fabulous.
Paprika is like Pinkie Pie if she had live in the mountains with no contact with anybody for most her life.
Oleander is basically best pony.
And finally Tianhuo is disciplined, stoic, lacks arrogance, and is too honorable to fight those who she does not deem worthy for her skills. Pretty much everything that Rainbow Dash isn’t.
Funniest thing is how most people seem to think Velvet is just an expy of Rarity, but if anyone bothered to read her character intro, they would realize she’s far closer to Trixie.
The characters that are the closest to their pony inspirations so far are Arizona and Paprika.
@Marvelous TK
I find with these last two, Oleander and Tianhuo, they’re starting to branch off and separate the personalities from their starting inspirations. Though with what little we have to go with, the other four fit closer to their origins.
@Mad Black
Honestly the whole anything dark is bad trope is getting old it’s always about light and pure things being the only good things and that’s getting worn out I like dark characters.
@Trahzo
Oleander has a buddy too. He’s a big, literally four eyed goat head book demon with an unpronounceable name. The two of them seem to be on well enough terms.
@Trahzo
Oleander has an evil skull. Not saying skulls beat owls or baby dragons… Just pointing out that she is not a completely friendless, antisocial nerd. You know. Like Twilight Moondancer.
When the call for a Key Keeper finally reached the unreachable ears of the Unicorns deep in the shady forests of The Woodland, it was ignored. The reclusive and reverent Order of the Horn does not participate in violence of any kind. They believe that Light Magic will ultimately prevail, though they did not presume to know how.
This was not good enough for one Unicorn — and this surprised no one. Oleander has been long known as the Order of the Horn’s resident rebel. Frustrated with the closed mindedness of her people’s philosophies, she longed for progress and new ideas, and she found these in a book. A book of DARK MAGIC. She believes, that harnessed for the right reasons, dark magic is just as good as light magic. But the use of the book and its spells has marked her. Unlike the rest of her clan, her white coat has turned dark and now they turn deaf ears whenever she tries to speak her mind. It’s no matter. She does not need their permission to save Fœnum. And when she does, she’ll prove that darkness is as good as light.
@Mad Black
Oleander is a dark unicorn setting out to prove to the light magic preachers that are the rest of the unicorns that dark magic can be used for good
