Can’t agree with ya there. While all of the above animes are rather popular, I don’t care what anybody tries to tell me, enjoying the confusion that is Revolutionary Girl Utena is a proper mark of otaku honor.

The original dragonball had way more characters like puar, oolong and Roshi’s turtle.

Fluttershy is a fan of Ranma and Utena and Evangelion.

I think I may have just figured out a connection between at least four of five it’s the cute pets that main characters either have or are friends with. For instance Sailor Moon has Artemis, and Luna. Ranma 1/2 has P-chan, who while not a exactly a pet is still a cute animal in when splashed with cold water same goes for shampoo who transforms into a cat when splashed with cold water. Revolutionary girl Utena has Chu-Chu. Neon genesis evangelion has Pen-Pen. And while I’m not as familiar with Dragon ball z, but apparently has Yamcha’s friend Puar, who is a shape-shifter. I’m almost surprised that Tenchi Muyo, or Magic knights Rayearth didn’t show up. I got to say that this episod got me to love Fluttershy that much more and not just for the otakushy thing she showed some great character development in this episode, and I hope we see more of this kind of thing from her.
