A large amount of the community cares about animu and vidya too, but you don’t get to post those here unless there’s some goddamn pony attached. The “community related” tag is a way of dancing around the obvious: that Fighting is Magic deserves to stay because it’s a knock-off of MLP. It’s as pony-related as Demon Donkey.

I’m personally glad the only thing this game might carbon copy from the previous project is the character movements, the more they can get away from fighting is magic with this the better.
 
it gives mane6 the chance to truly grow and become something of their own instead of “those guys who (almost) made the awesome MLP fangame”. Besides all the possibilities! New story, new characters, new world all crafted from no other than Lauren herself. Makes it feel like something worth hyping for instead of just a reskin.

I would think the reason this is relevant is because a large amount of the community still cares, not just because it started out as Fighting is Magic.

I kind of agree with the fact that Fighting Is Magic isn’t mlp related.  
They decided to continue in spite of C&D. It was their choice, so they chose to make original characters instead. It may have the spirit of the original, but it isn’t mlp related.  
Just because Lauren Faust is working on it doesn’t make it an mlp production. You wouldn’t call powerpuff girls, iron giant, or galaxy girls mlp related products.  
I haven’t heard a good reason to consider it one other than that it was originally meant to be a mlp game. And honestly that’s a pretty weak reason

I supported them to get the Z-engine, I’ll support them again, cause it looks like a tight game to play.
