So what other video game references were there on the show other than the explicit references to The Legend of Zelda and Earthbound?
Sunflower song litics…

Please tell me theres that fkower hidden somewhere
IN THIS WORLD IT’S KILL OR BE KILLED.
My understanding is that Rainbow doesn’t have an issue with cuteness. It’s just that those flowers were obnoxiously cute. Like I said, I myself found them really creepy and a large part of that is because of how they seemed designed specifically to be cute, and I just find that weird and off-putting.
But in what way has Rainbow Dash showed that there can be too much cuteness?
It’s a common trope that the ‘cool’ and ‘awesome’ character, who’s all for action and excitement, really really despise cure things … I get that part – but I haven’t seen Rainbow being this kind of character.
That it’s supposed to be a joke of the surprisingly expected situation … but to me, it just came off as odd, and not at all how I’ve seen Rainbow act before.
Her instance of a nightmare is a satire of most cartoons geared towards younger children: Almost DIABETIC in nature to the point where the creators shoot themselves downhill.
This isn’t an instance of her hating cute things. This is an instance where the cuteness is overwhelming her senses to the point where she can’t STAND it. Hence, why it’s torture.
No… I never said she was afraid/disgusted/hated the cute.
She got bored of Rarity, when nothing happens for a while.
And she disliked the damage done by the Parasprites, not for the fact of their cuteness.
I’m still waiting for a proof that she dislike/afraid/despise/hate cute stuff.
It makes sense if you’ve seen Undertale. Sunflowers are EVIL incarnate.
Did you seriously disagree with yourself just then? XD
Please point to any other episode and scene where she dispise girly stuff?
She did think those Parasprites were cute (until the crisis). She did come with Fluttershy on a butterfly-watch (she found it boring, obviously).
She was all up for when Rarity wants to dress Rainbow up (Dragonshy, but got bored; Suited for Success).
Firstly, they don’t exist. They’re a mental manifestation of her greatest fear. Secondly, that being anything girly. She really doesn’t like feminine things, or have you not been watching the show? XD
I’d argue that it really depends on whether or not you found those things cute. I certainly didn’t. I mean, I know a lot of people did find them cute, but I just found them really unsettling.
If Rainbow just got bored of the new dream – then that would be something I would consider ‘in character’.
If there’s no action, or excitement, Rainbow might get bored of it.
But afraid/scared/disguised by the cute? Nah…
I thought those things were creepy. Really creepy. Not cute creepy, just creepy.
That scene from the episode was such an unexpected cliché…
Also, the artist knows how a blindfold looks like, kinky.
There’s some overlap, apparently. That’s Chaos for ya.
Love? Really? Huh. Would’ve argued for Nurgle, considering how welcoming he is. Plus, that whole thing with Isha…
Love. That’s the one. Hit me back at work.
A drive for self-improvement or something? I’unno.
And I imagine the positive side doesn’t have enough GRIMDARK for the setting.
Yeah, you’re right. My mistake.
Not many people play up the Chaos Gods’ positive aspects, which is a pity. Khorne representing military pride, honour and brotherhood, Tzeentch’s hope, change and evolution, Nurgle giving rebirth, perseverance and determination…
Er…Slaneesh’s….er….lust for life?
Yeah, but nobody cares about that part. Also, I thought Tzeentch was hope.
