I always figured the (in)availability of her VA had to do with it. As for why the Crusaders’ didn’t want to be around her, I think it may have been an example of the staff lampshading fanon.
I know, but that has nothing to do with AB ditching her as a friend. The Crusaders didn’t even seem like they wanted to be around her when she spoke her one line in “The Cutie Pox”.
The reason she hasn’t been used since Call of the Cutie is that her VA moved to the states.
Not at all! She’s a sweet little filly, and was friends with Apple Bloom until AB ditched her for getting her cutie mark.

I never saw her as controversial – it’s just that some fans seem to irrationally hate her.
