I got MK8 today. The new battle mode is surprisingly decent. It only really becomes a problem on larger maps and when a lot of the players are knocked-out, and the few remaining have to find each other.

I got MK7 for free with my 3DS XL. It’s pretty fun. They just released MK8 for WiiU now, and it looks cool to. I don’t think it’s fair to say they’re the same game though, as there are differences between them. (Just look at the balloon battle modes. I admit, I’m disapointed they got rid of the traditional “arena” style battle arenas in MK8, but I’m willing to keep an open mind torwards their more race-track-oriented battle arenas now.)

If you already have a 3DS, Kart 7 is often on sale for $29 and the online is a lot of fun. A Wii bit cheaper than $330 for a U, and same experience.
