@Choo
Fair enough, although if the series is still gaining Hasbro money, they’ll continue with the franchise.
Who knows, maybe with a spin off series featuring a different set of characters as the main cast? (Seems the most likely).
Or they could do a new series set several years after gen 4.
Mlp gen 4 does have the hallmarks of a franchise as popular as things like Doctor Who, Hello Kitty (even a link there through Tara Strong), Transformers etc.
It’s not going to disappear quickly. Especially with a fanbase as big and talented as this one. If Hasbro stop the series, fan groups may start doing their own episodes. Just hope they’re better than some of the previous attempts. (Although I actually quite enjoyed ‘Double Rainboom’ myself).
@PlaneMech
I reckon we’ll get more on this soon enough, as the tweet seems to imply there will be more info on this at SDCC. What with the hashtags and all.
@J4m35
Actually, it’s about the normal pace. Tweets during the hiatus implied season 5 was ready at the normal time and Discovery Family was just holding the premiere back.
DHX must be getting very efficient if season six starts in the same year. If it’s true they’re working at a faster pace, could we see season seven early as well?
Exactly, we don’t know. No need to put the cart before the horse and worry about what we have no idea about yet. Besides, Hasbro really has done a good job of keeping the content fun and worth watching.
@Princess Tuna
With no source for this, I can’t really believe it.
Many of Hasbro’s series only run for 6 seasons, but let’s face it, gen 4 of mlp has had as much success and maybe even a bigger following now than their other big money spinner ‘Transformers’.
I’d expect they’ll carry on making episodes/seasons as long as the series is making them money.
Which could be a very long time.
Don’t go getting all upset thinking or worrying about something that hasn’t happened. For all we know, this could be something that was finished a while ago. Also, unless you work for Hasbro, you really wouldn’t know what’s to be expected from the 6th season. Keep calm and wait until the season has come out before you get all depressed over it.
@Corrderio
Could be that this is going to be another shorter season and they’re going to start working full-time on the 2017 movie after that’s done. I can’t recall if they had a whole different team working on the movie off the top of my head right now.
