Wait, OP is a duck? How?! Posting a theory that says “Comics & Show aren’t one same canon, and can be seen as alternate continuation” is being a duck? Sorry but the comic hating is going of the rails.
Sure, we got some of THE WORST material recently, but instead of giving them a chance, you’re going “axe them completely.”
Want to see how many of the “comic haters” begin crying when they get cancelled. Like “Oh why they cut them off?! I remember how fun the Nightmarish arc was!” or “BRING THE COMICS BACK!”
@cheezedoodle
I don’t understand their motivation.
their burning hatred is so intense I don’t think it can be explained by a simple “the comics broke my headcanon”
Did a MLP comic brutally murder their father or so?
It almost feels like a cheap excuse to troll and willingly cause drama.
girls change appearance all the time.
and in a world filled with magic, breaking physics and other weird stuff, I’m sure that changing a coat color is doable. (as referenced by Twilight herself in episode 1)
same girl, different look

@Tragiclady
I completely agree to the multiverse theory plus the comics are good so it’s easy to go by the multiverse so then everyone is happy and can enjoy everything the series has to offer
Meh. Just think of the comics as an AU. Kinda like how Marvel had the ongoing main universe and ultimate universe. The show is the Maneverse and the comics are… Whateververse.
@Psyga315
You can’t disregard age in that theory because this took place years before the party. The timeline split would have happened long after the Sunset comic, ergo the theory is basically nonsense.
@RektPony
That’s a stupid argument. Using stock background ponies to fill a scene has no bearing on canon. Sometimes the same pony is used multiple times in a fill. It means nothing. What we’re talking about right now isn’t stock background stuff, it’s named characters with front-and-center roles. That’s an entirely different breed of inconsistency, because it’s one that affects something.
@Tragiclady
I’m not talking down on the comics, just that this theory makes absolutely no sense in either canon, show or comic. It’s just… wrong. In every way.
There have been more inconsitencies that this, it doesn’t make comics non canon. Is just inconcistency, S1 had Twilight as a filly when Lyra and Minuette were adult. If we are going to take such details into consideration then ENTIRE S1 is not canon anymore
moondancer and twilight are the same age in the show
but this is during filly twilight age with an adult moondancer (+ the rest of their group who are also twilight’s age in the show)
so this has no bearing on anything and is just completely wrong, stop trying to shoehorn the comic into the show even where it is physically impossible for them to be related
