Shining: I idolized Uncle Silver Lance, Moms little bro. It was because of him that I wanted to become a guard in the first place! He always had the best stories about guard life And he would let me get away with more than my parents, like staying up late or another scoop of ice cream!
Im not dead! Ive returned from FE! and am getting back into the swing of things. This was done partially in FireAlpaca before I could finish it on my regular PC. Im testing out various free art programs for work. Unfortunately, because of department preferences, it must be for Mac OSX Yosemite. I was looking forward to testing out Krita too

Celestia’s fate looks grim. She is exactly the kind of important mentor who would meet such an end.
Because it’s a common trope for mentors and inspirational figure {not to mention relatives} to die before the apprentice or such finishes their training. It’s a way to keep them motivated and give them something to work and fight for.
That or he’s just a minor character and won’t play any important part and such escape death. {It sometimes pays off to be not so important in a story for some characters.}
