@Deon Miller
I always thought Revelations was pretty much an analogy for stuff that happens all the time: Fire, floods, mudslides, twisters, disease; All living things are surrounded by microbes, harmful or ortherwise, from birth to death and even afterwards. Oh, that gives me an idea for magic skeletons. X3
Petty things like legality won’t stop the Moral Guardians from making a fuss about those things. in my country, gay marriage has been legal since 2013, and this didn’t stop one of our minor undistinguished candidates in last year’s presidential election from making blatantly homophobic statements and becoming quasi-famous in the proccess. and it didn’t stop our Protestant church leaders and televangelists from doing the same thing. and it didn’t stop anti-gay violence from happening.
@Deon Miller
“(fun fact: the bit in Leviticus that everyone loves to quote is part of a section that’s about how the Israelites aren’t supposed to practice Molech-worship or take part in its rites, which included things like child sacrifice and homosexual shrine prostitution, which is likely why it gets mentioned here).”
The Book of Revelations is just that, a book. Humans can’t even reliably pass a message in a crowded room, pretty sure we wouldn’t do so well recording a message across centuries. Don’t put so much stock in your readings, rely on your personal reflections.
A person cannot tell another person what lies in their heart, only through introspection will that be revealed.
Maybe stop believing that, if he exists, he’s a genocidal dick that hates gays. Pretty sure that if God exists, he’s probably a nice chap and isn’t going to smite the world cause of gays.
Deity should be personal for you, not by the dictates of some book. How do you, personally, think God would react?
@Deon Miller
Because other people would complain, riot, and kill, or you would?… It seems like that’s what you were trying to say the first time, but nopony could actually tell…
