Description

@Jarkes
#16 did not focus on Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara as much as Diamond Tiara and the CMC. Velma pony had more of a role than Silver Spoon.

What PonyPon said. Sunset only used one and it didn’t work out well, Celestia was already connected to them. What bugs me is the M6 using them in the comic was going to (somehow) seal both Celestias in ice, yet Good Sombra by himself just takes them and sucks out the evil from the two mirror alicorns like that was all that made them bad.

It reeks of something you’d find in a bad self insert fanfic.

Celestia had an established connection with them she lost right after that event, Sunset Shimmer was rejected by a single element(at least that’s what I thought the official stance was) and being the a big good of the setting is all he has is common with Celestia, which doesn’t really give the act any logic.

Good Sombra being able to use all 6 elements out of nowhere

It isn’t without precedent though: Celestia has done it before (Sunset Shimmer also did something similar). Considering Alt-Sombra is basically the “male Celestia” of that universe, it makes sense that he could use the Elements alone.

I wouldn’t even say that it’s necessarily so bad. I liked the Celestia Micro just fine, although Celestia herself only played second fiddle. But if it happens repeatedly, there might just be an issue.

As is the problem with the comics. Too often the OCs of a writer and/or artist just give way too much focus to their OC than the canon characters. Case in point: FF#1, FF#14.

Far from a big example of liberties they take to make a story easier to throw out the door, but of the biggest offenders in the Friends Forever ones go I have to say it cheapens the themes of what the show would do with say Fluttershy and Rarity, Rarity and AJ, Twilight and Rainbow Dash would give the characters as an example of episodes that focus on showing us two ponies grow and mature with and through each other.

The comics tend to use a third-party to shove the bulk of attention to building and resolving a potential friendship problem with “cute distractions” or what have you.

Does this qualify as drama? And if so, should I be happy or sad that our standards for “drama” have become less restrictive with the passage of time?
