I have recently been a girl in high school. I generally avoided using the bathrooms (and they hardly give you any time to go anyway, with rules that you can’t go in the first or last 15 minutes of class and you only have five minutes to find a bathroom, do what you need to go, wash your hands and get back to class), but sometimes I’d go in during school lunch and see girls standing in front of the mirrors with their phones. It isn’t unlikely that they’d use them in the stalls… It’s kind of gross.
Even if students use their phones in class a lot, I’ve never heard of selfies in the bathroom.
I think it’s because high schoolers aren’t allowed to use their phones during school hours… although probably 90-something percent of them do anyway. When the overwhelming need to be self-absorbed comes, there’s only one place to use the phone where school officials will never know… even if it’s kind of embarrassing.

Pro tip: Don’t takes selfies, especially in the bathroom.
