I seriously don’t get why Luna is so damn popular while Celestia is downright villified by a section of the fandom.  
Just saying, Celestia wasn’t the one who became so jealous of her sister that she tapped into dark magic and became a vengeful entity.  
Nor she’s the figurehead of a Republic even though she’s a Monarch.

Here’s hoping some more Celestia in Season 3.If Luna is getting more,I’m sure Celestia will too.

EQD is a joke, though. Good news site, but the community is a bunch of white-knighting twats.

Of course Luna won rolls eyes don’t get me wrong,I like Luna and all but man…Celestia gets no love.
 
I find myself coming back here where she can get some of it.

But here’s something to think about: The question is not how she copes with such stark loneliness and having nothing but her ponies to live for, but how she’s so upbeat and happy all the time despite the fact that she has no friends or family outside of Luna that we know of.
 
Of course, we never saw Celestia prior to Luna’s return. For all we know, pre-pilot Celestia was quiet and melancholy. She really might only need Luna to be happy, she certainly doesn’t seem to ask for much more.
 
But I get the feeling that Celestia’s personal life is a complete and utter mystery, and that behind closed doors or with her unknown long-time friends she’s a completely different person. Most politicians are.
 
Difference is, we tend to love it when our leaders act down to earth and cut loose and have fun. When Celestia tries, ponies are just alienated.

Honestly, my favorite kind of portrayal of Celestia is the friendly, wise, but a little mournful on the inside.
 
It might wear on a monarch to sacrifice her own happiness for so long just to keep her people safe. So she tries to find some outlets when she can (inviting Twilight n’ friends to the Gala)

I agree with the training montage. Seriously Celestia needs to just straight up incinerate a motherfucker.
 
Some manipulative bastard is hamming it up with his villain monologue about how he will bring Equestria to its knees. And then BAM, Celestia just bursts through a wall and fucking turns him to ash.

Pretty much.
 
Speaking of which, I’ll say it again. Celestia is about as tough as a wet tissue. She needs a training montage, complete with headband, legwarmers, and Guile’s theme.
 
And then she can save the day for once. Elements are pretty badass, but what if one of them is sick or something? It’s like if America’s nuclear arsenal was tied exclusively to the well-being of a few individuals. Not particularly smart to rely on something that can be disabled with a high fever.
 
At least Trollestia is canon, though. She’s not mean, she just likes to prank ponies because otherwise they’ll never loosen up around her. A Bird in the Hoof made it pretty clear that she’s just a normal girl that wants to have normal fun, but can’t because everypony seems to think that looking at her funny will piss her off and end their lives.

Tyrant Celestia seems like it would only really work in an inverted universe type thing where Luna became everypony’s BFF ruler, I have no idea why normal Celestia gets portrayed that way so much, especially in anime/RPG parodies where she’s got like some false friend deal going on (Pony Fantasy, Battle for Equestria, etc). Hell, she seems like one of those goofy royals like Jan of Bohemia who’d rather die for their subjects than the other way around. No matter how INSANE that is since she’s way more vital to her entire nation’s health than any single other pony. If anything she should be the retarded shounen hero what throws themselves in harm’s way constantly even when the other pony would have been A-OK.

I think this was one of my favorites, because it was one of the first to openly imply that Celestia wasn’t the tyrannical monster that people liked claiming at that point in time.

Changing to semi-grimdark. Injuries seem overall “light” (relative to what normally falls in this category) and whatever badness happened passed.
