@raw19
yeah, AKR has left, Larson has left ect. They mostly went to Disney to write because Disney must have realised that in part as to why we all even watch this show is due to them writing!
It’s going to cost Hasbro more than they realise I think, not offering the writers more money to keep them. If it wasn’t for these people, none of us would exist.
But yeah, I know. Thing is I’ve stopped watching S6 and have blocked all tags relating to it. At the point with my friends and others (which is a surprising large amount at this point) who are not watching new episodes and just going to enjoy what we once had in the past(Watching Seasons 1-5). When things were great and people were happier and the praise drowned the hate xD @Crimson “Valent” Azure
Yeah, it’s too bad she didn’t get a hold of the episode, would have made sense since she didn’t get episodes for entire seasons as you said, because they indeed should have gotten a good Dash writer for the episode. At least have written one Dash episode beforehand! Who debut’s with a episode that people have been waiting so many years for. lol.
Good luck with it, I hope you can get that episode and continue to watch the show for a long time coming :) Haha yeah, I can’ watch Dash be OOC, It just gets to me too much I think.
@Goremise
But Cindy Morrow is still part of the writing staff, right? Couldn’t they have given her the episode, especially since she didn’t get an episode in S4 or Ed Valentine? You know, someone who has shown they can write Dash good?
I’m hoping for another Dashie episode by an older writer and honestly, I kinda liked this episode. Sure it’s nowhere near many of the past episodes, and Dash is pretty OOC but it was fun. And I adore Dashie.
@raw19
The problem with what you just said, is that they have lost all those writers. Remember Larson and others have all left the writing staff.
There was no one truly seasoned to write this important episode.
I hated this episode, and Dash is my best pony. I have loved Dash forever and wanted her to achieve her dream, But not like this! This episode should have been EPIC, like truly EPIC
and it wasn’t! So it’s understandable that many people are frustrated.
Interesting. Makes me wonder why they didn’t give such an important episode to someone more seasoned. This seems to be the season of ‘dreams coming true’ and if it was me i would have put the people who’ve written the best episodes, have portrayed each featured character the best in past episodes, or were all around fan favorites onto these episodes. I certainly wouldn’t have asked someone brand spanking new to write something people have been looking forward to for years.
But, that’s just me. And that being said, i didn’t hate this episode. There were some cringe-worthy moments and several things that could have been done better, but i still found parts funny and i still enjoyed seeing Dash’s dream come true.
@raw19
David Rapp, he worked on a show that was on CBS. A crime drama at that. So I’m not surprised people hate this episode given he had no prior cartoon writing experience, and if he did, the show faded into obscurity.
Which is funny because most new writers (especially Ed Valentine) do pretty well even if their last project sucked. Hell, Valentine despite writing for some of the worst Fairly Odd Parents episodes ended up writing my second favourite Discord episode and my all time favourite episode.
@Crimson “Valent” Azure
what I mean by that statement is more to do with seeing Dash fans hate the episode and seeing Dash haters love the episode. It’s like, the opposite that the have happened.
She was her S1 self, like this amateur writer had not even realised S2-6 happened.
Imagine the other Mane 6 acting exactly like Dash did in the episode, doing everything she did.
@Goremise
Same here. I agree it was pretty cringey. I mean Rainbow Dash being “dynamic” was a little too obnoxious, and while I did like her imitation of Fluttershy for how cute it was, she was still kind of crazy. It felt like she was purposely doing that as a way of coping with the Crash teasing.
And I doubt they could ruin Rainbow Dash THAT much. Yeah, she was annoying in this episode, but still likeable.
@youregoingtoloveme @Eeveeinheat
Excatly, Dash was agitated with Twilight and was half mocking her while just play-funning it.
So it was funny, and a good laugh when we saw it.
So they must have thought “hey people loved it last time, so lets make Dash BECOME the other mane 5, but do it really badly and not in mocking! Best idea!” xD
@youregoingtoloveme
No idea, but again, that’s what happens when you give a important episode like this, to someone who has not written anything, let alone written anything animated, for over 6 years.
If we had a good experienced writer doing the episode, moments like that would not exist and the episode would have been loved by people.
Oh well can’t win em all :) Dash still my best pony no matter how much they try and ruin her in S6 ^^
@Eeveeinheat
And for the life of me, I can’t figure out why they dispensed wth Rainbow using this Lost Treasure of Griffonstone Twilight mane a second time in Newbie Dash… not that its inclusion would have made it less cringeworthy.
Rainbow Dash’s line right there was so appropriate for the entirety of Griffonstone, hell, one griffon wasn’t willing to save RD’s life for free. How heartless
