Description
The trait of generosity is abstract, as the interpretation of generosity varies between those who attempt to possess it. Many will tie an arbitrary caveat into their own utilization of generosity, usually a belief that their giving nature makes them more deserving of good karma, that their peers will one day be as generous to them in return, or that they can use gifts as a substitution for being a good person. But one’s generosity is not appraised in the value of the gifts they are given, but in how far they will go to ensure they provide what others need.
Generosity is helpful.
But generosity is not about quantity.
The real gift is the endeavor one undergoes…
…To give another some warmth that will emanate in both.
I’ve not seen that word used since that one party where a friend and I randomly decided to Shakespeare it up.
From Vest’s comment:
Ah, so they are gemstones. I wasn’t entirely certain.
I like that you put so much thought into these pieces. The first two were truly outstanding.
I can see how these remaining ones are gonna be more challenging to work into natural phenomena, given that they’re all triplets of the same symbol.
In any case, this is a fantastic series. I commend you on such an idea.
First off, I fixed some bits of the image around Rarity and her legs. Updated version of the image can be located at the source.
@PumpJack
It was my intent to have the picture tell the story of Rarity trying to find the perfect gift for somebody, and having Applejack be the recipient seemed the most fitting choice. They started out in the series loathing one another, and the friendship they developed is greatly credited to the work of Twilight helping to bring them together regardless of their differences. Over the series we see them growing closer to one another; sometimes too comfortable like in Season 4’s Rarity Takes Manehattan, when Applejack straight up tells her how rotten she treated everyone to Dash’s surprise. In this image, I wanted the setting to be dark, cold, hostile, to really drive it in how far Rarity would go for her friends. And in this case, it’s the gems appearing in the shape of Applejack’s cutie mark.
You’ll notice that snow and ice cover the floors of this cavern…except where Rarity is sitting beside those gems.
@hawthornbunny
Yep. 3 to go!
How cool is it?!
