Twilight didn’t hate boastfulness, she was afraid her friends would see has as boasting. If she hated it, then she’d also hate Rainbow Dash.
 
And I’ve always been of the opinion that Trixie doesn’t care all that much about being truly great and powerful, but more that she’s an actress/entertainer and the magic stuff is what she can pull off well for that purpose. And even if she did care, there are reasons why she could move from simple resentment to respect or at least “might as well learn something”.

I mean… Ok, if Twilight doesn’t hate Trixie because she’s a boastful cunt and Trixie doesn’t hate Twilight for being everything she isn’t without any effort at all, then this ship could work.

Although I have an INTENSE disliking of this ship the art that it has is usually pretty good. Good enough so that I don’t smash my phone when I see it.
