You really did necro a 5 year gone thread just to tell everyone you don’t know what the word “canon” means, huh.
Here’s the thing
Step 1 :Browse Derpibooru
Step 2:Pics with drama comments about Lucifer IDW found while browsing
Step 3 :Check and browse tags of said picture for additional information about the comic issues,the complaints associated with the comic,the author etc
Step 4 :Found equally moronic comments on old picture that you missed because everyone cant be on Derpibooru 24/24
Step 5:Call out the “hurr durr IDW is Lucifer”bullshit
You have your explanation
I don’t know.
Boredom and the thrill of the fight.
you’d like to believe that… what I’m telling you is that their recognition went way past the parts of Reddit you speak of, like the massive popularity it got on youtube for instance. or facebook. or twitter.
I’ll agree with you on one thing though, their popularity has been waning as of late, probably because it shifted vastly towards Twitter.
Yyyeah, but that “perception” pretty much begins on one chan and ends on the other; it’s really not replicated in the culture of other social media outlets aside from the parts of Reddit that are mostly channers.
even though there’s not that many of them, they’ve made enough of a popular sensation to gain their brand’s recognition on the internet. You can’t dismiss that as just a freak accident, it’s very characteristic of what they are and how much they influenced others’ perception of Tumblr..
in any case, I think we talked enough about the semantics in my comments here.
it’s very well known for housing the vast majority of occurrences
It’s very frequently whined about as if it housed the “vast majority”, which may be an easy shorthand to allow the whiners to take shots at phantom dissenters, but isn’t quite the same thing. Y’know, as long as we’re talking about straw men.
yeah, but if you remember my first comment here, I was talking about the sexist/identity/gender bigot crowd, I never once stated racist bigots don’t exist.
@toxicitzi
what you’re saying right now is the strawman argument you started, or at least I think that’s what it is, if you’re insinuating that’s what I’ve been trying to say with my initial comment. I know well that Tumblr isn’t just all that, but it’s very well known for housing the vast majority of occurrences on the internet of that particular kind of stupidity.
What I expect is that– for anyone who’s paying attention– it puts the constant whining some people do about Tumblr as A-BLOO BLOO BLOO SMOOTH JAZZ WALUIGI in perspective, vis a vis “Tumblr is in fact full of exactly the same kind of ignorant racist and sexist bullshit as [whatever]chan and Reddit, because no matter where you look people are shitty all over”.
this comes a little late, but after seeing the pokemon debate over “girl or boy” at Tumblr, I’m staying by every little bit of what I said there.
and frankly, I don’t know what else you’d expect from a white power tag in any case.
People are getting mad at this comic because it was a really, REALLY unsubtle metaphor for things that SJWs commonly whine about. And the OC dragon that it introduced was obnoxious.
And here, we have the author of said comic trying to say that Dragon Quest was somehow about Spike’s racial identity and having to change it. Yeeahhh….no, it wasn’t.
Dragon Quest teaches that you are not your race or your appearance, you are you.
The comic addresses the issues caused by interpreting the moral the wrong way, further enforcing that race doesn’t determine who you are whilst developing Spike a bit more too.
I don’t get how there are any issues to be getting mad at. I hate SJWs with a bloodthirsty vengeance, but I’m not stupid enough to see the word race and then shout “SJW!”. Talking about race shouldn’t be taboo for any reason. And teaching race issues to children is important. I wish the comic had been an episode instead, replacing Spike at your Service.
Yeah, that Tumblr– always so oversensitive about race.
>episode is about his dragon species
are we on tumblr right now?
I would have enjoyed the story more if a dragon had turned out to be responsible and Spike had put a stop to it anyway, deciding he would be a dragon, but a good one like Mina rather than a monster like the wild dragons that had threatened Equestria. That way, the message would have been that a person is defined by what they choose to do and the guilty are still guilty regardless of race. As it currently stands, the message was more “if there’s prejudice against a group, people in it must be completely innocent”. And yes, that is far too similar to the nastier parts of Tumblr.
Oh, well, how fortunate that The Entire Fandom All At Once has Rando Coltrissian here to tell it what it thinks about an episode; meanwhile, Crackle has over two hundred fan arts listed here and they average some pretty high scores. “You hated a thing” =/= “Everyone else in the world hated a thing”.
And another 66kB wasted! (Times however many backups are used for each image.)

Doublethink is widespread in this fandom.
@Dashu
Lauren Faust agreed with people who pointed out “Feeling Pinkie Keen” could be viewed as attacking science.

Funny how a few popular S4 episodes erased SaYS off of Dave Polsky’s resume. At least the “dragon code” is there to be referenced and used again, if anyone ever remembers it.
