The show’s already proven that it doesn’t follow the proposed Faust theory that MLP ponies age the same way as real ponies… we know for a fact that Sweetie Belle was 5 in her flashback in “For Whom the Sweetie Belle Toils”, and real horses/ponies are adults by then, they reach puberty between 9-18 months depending on the breed and individual. Besides Lauren never said they aged that way for sure, she was basically just saying she didn’t know and didn’t want to have to give exact ages for the ponies. MLP ponies are way more like humans than real horses in pretty much every way anyway.

5 year reunions aren’t uncommon, either. It’s also not 100% certain what age they graduate high school. I’m still holding out for them to verify Faust’s original idea that ponies become adults earlier than people in America. Since… you know, they’re ponies.

I dunno, I’m in my 20s and I’ve been invited to a highschool reunion (Didn’t go though). Some high schools do their reunions earlier, I guess? Either way, not too much of an issue here.
 
Faust herself called the mane 6 “young adults” so I’d probably peg them as being in their 20s too.
