Well, what did you expect when you read a book that had characters at war? That’s like going to an amusement park and being surprised to see people on rides.
true. and even the emotions from the actors that did it… they were pretty raw.
Still, considering that until that book, the death toll per book was an average of 0.66 (Quirrel died in Sorceror’s/Philosopher’s Stone, no one died in Chamber of Secrets or Prisoner of Azkaban, and Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, and Half-Blood Prince had one death each), it is still pretty brutal for that series.
And the 19 I mentioned? Those were just the named characters. There were probably a bunch of other civilians killed during Voldemort’s regime.
