Yep, archlich is definitely a better fit. It’s what, or rather who, happens when an extremely powerful spellcaster refuses to both die and associate with gods and/or evil.
…you could say, though, that alicorns is MLP version of archliches, attaining practical immortality through supreme arcane power.
Demiliches are stronger than regular liches.
Of course, so are the archliches, which would be a significantly better fit for Twilight because those, counterintuivitively, run on Positive energy instead of the Negative of normal undead.

This is a perfect example on why a lich usually makes more than one.

Rarity can provide a better replacement cloak herself; but there’s not much a make-up can do if the skin and organs fall off the subject of the make-up.
Rarity’s more concerned with Twilight’s unflattering choice of cloak
Sight of your current state could kill Rarity. And the longer you delay the harder it will be, including quite a bit of irrepairable damage.
