Wow, I feel stupid now. From the context it’s obvious she must have been saying something like that. Thanks!
Think of it this way:
Anata wa konton wo tabete iku <- you keep eating chaos
shika nakatta <- there was no other [option]
dake nano ni ne <- it’s only that … right?
Fluttershy: It’s just that you had no other choice but to keep eating chaos, right?
Top: Even though you’ve been told plants don’t feel pain? What’s the difference between a living fish, devoured, and an apple that falls in the spring? Who decides which of them we should feel sorry for and which we shouldn’t, hmm?
Bottom: Thank you for showing me, Discord… Like a bird pecking at a bug, like a goat eating grass… (anata wa konton o tabete iku shika nakatta dake na no ni ne)
That last phrase is giving me conniptions. Konton is chaos, tabete iku is “going to eat”, shika nakatta is “wasn’t only” and “dake” is only, so it’s either:
You weren’t only going to eat chaos
or
It wasn’t only you that would eat chaos
or
Eating chaos wasn’t all that you would do
It’d really be best if we had a native speaker to look at that last line, because it’s confusing the crap out of me.
