OK, as someone who doesn’t care for Sparity, I would call “bullshit” on anyone trying to use reasoning like that first point to argue against the pairing.
 
To me, anyway, this is just a cute, somewhat silly image; I don’t understand why someone would find it weird, but I won’t argue with them either.

My claims that those two S4 Eps implied that Spike is alright with he and Rarity simply being friends is not my own argument. It comes from the author Draconian Soul. It was also his/her argument that made Spike/Rarity my OTP. Period.

1: Not to be on the side of the people who call Sparity pedophilia, but by adding in the blushing on the doll, it makes it seems like it’s alive and that it either is the actual Rarity having been shrunk, or turned back to her younger but a more tiny state, that would make it more pedophilia. It even gives the anti-sparity fans or haters of the two characters’ relationship (be it a simple friendship, or actual romance) a score for their arguments.
 
2. Kissing a doll…is wired, when you think about it. If was just hugs, that would be okay.
 
3. It makes Spike look TOO obsessive with Rarity. Yes, he has a big crush on her, but (as the episodes “Simple Ways” and Inspiration Manifestation” seem to imply) he is also okay with simply just beings friends with her and not in an actual romantic relationship.

I am one of the huge Spike/Rarity fans out there, and I am an admirer of pia-sama’s pictures of them but this is wrong and will give anti-sparity fans a score.

Thanks. I “do” ship Spike and Rarity so much that is it my OTP, and it is in my opinion, the best ship ever in the world, even beating out all the million and one pony and non-pony-ships I support. But even I have standards.

Fair point on lidded-eye screencaps…though keep in mind this is the fandom that builds characters out of animation quirks.

Come on, the be you mention where just a screenshot when she was blinking, that some individual with enough free time to search frame by frame until they found what they wanted. So yeah, it’s curious how you can build a conversation over stuff a very idle person created to use part of their tons of spare time so to feel somewhat useful for something. Conversation that again, has nothing to do with the pic at all!
