I think students can still get away with it, and she would have potential but thier could also be danger of  
“over enthusiasm” for lack of a better term. It would be like if a little kid was enjoying their first time at the pool that the instant the guardians turn their backs the kid heads for the diving board. Is the diving board inherently bad? No, but they just might not be ready for it. The same can sometimes be said of extreme turn around converts such as Shimmer.
