Now try putting pure sodium metal into water.

Cool things will happen!

I’d love to see Rainbow Dash pouring some cesium in that water.

Well I have the feeling that it wouldn’t end well. Other than that, I fall to see the point. That much raw Natrium in a Lakebed / Coast would already leave a massive creator behind. And Dash (what’s left of her), wouldn’t amount to a smudge.

Its just that assuming that if, that really is Natrium, and NOT Natrium Chloride, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near Rainbow Dash! Really Someone who’s ponyfiying the Periodic Table, should already know the difference.

Cause this time it really could save your life… If not your Kitchen lol.

@Lawful Girly
Raw sodium metal is highly explosive.

I think the term your looking for is reactive especially with Dihydrogen Monoxide. Or just plan old Oxygen. I think its otherwise more or less safe…

But, I still don’t think it would be a great idea to stockpile a load or raw Sodium in wet lake bed like that where One might harvest NiCl (Sea Salt).

Time for another YouTube lesson it seems…

@Ichijoe
“Natrium” is sodium, it’s just another name for it, from the New Latin. You’re thinking of natron, a specific type of mineral salt. Raw sodium is not only perfectly safe to store like this, as you can see below, but that’s how a large majority of it was harvested in historic times and continues to be done today. Chlorine, however, is not safe.

Isn’t the stuff we call “Salt” not One Element, but actually composed of Two Elements?
Namely Natrium, and Chlorine… (NaCl) Considering how reactive raw Natrium is… I’m not sure you’d want to store it in quite the way(s) depicted here.
