He might not have started out aware of it… If he had known at the start that he wasn’t even a toy to her, just a prop, would they have even been together at all? Maybe he didn’t want to believe, and being forced to accept that he meant nothing to her is what led to him dumping her.
 
And you’re assuming he ever forgave her. Over the course of both movies, he acknowledges her existence exactly once, the incident I just mentioned. My headcanon is that Flash has nothing but contempt and bitterness for Sunset, and as such prefers to simply act like she’s not there. He wouldn’t try to make her suffer (when not under the influence of mind-altering magic), and he’d even help her if she was in trouble, but after doing so, he’d make it clear he helped despite it being her. She is, simply put, a sore spot for him, and he refuses to believe she’s changed. And while this viewpoint may be mistaken in some ways, it’s certainly reasonable given how deeply she prresumably hurt him.

That’s a distinct possibility. Flash was probably well aware that Sunset was just using him because he was popular. I suspect it took him a while to forgive her for all of that (as well as everything else) even after the brainwashing was removed and the Sirens were defeated.

Actually, he does do something else; he’s the first one who gets the anti-Sunset mob riled up after she tackles Rainbow Dash. Still the brain control, but it makes me suspect he’s got some baggage from back when they were together.

There were quite a few people on the Deviantart page for this image who went on and on about how Flash “deserved” something like this. Heck, some people actually thought that this image meant that dm29 didn’t like the Flashlight pairing now, even though as he’s stated, this was more a follow-up to a couple other images he had already done.

Also, it’s obvious that Twilight saw Goseiger and thought that she could do the “punch the mind control out of him” thing that Alata did to Gosei Knight.
