The Kelpie from that one issue doesn’t resemble Nessie either. Before anypony asks, neither does Steven Magnet. Any being that looks like a Lapras looks like Nessie.

Considering that these girls are usually penniless, I bet they would take any kind of food if hungry. (Even though Aria does gets bored of eating junk food after awhile.)

i think they might be mutated kelpies. if you look at the gems in their equestrian forms, they seem fused to their bodies. while in the human world, they are shown to not be part of their anatomy.
