Don’t pretend to be obtuse, you know exactly what he means and that it’s perfectly valid. Anon means you have no established identity or history. For better or worse, names establish a sort of reputation, and anon allows people to avoid that and be assholish without fear of it tarring future interactions.
 
“All anons are shit” is as false and tired as “you don’t show your passport / SSN so you’re anon too”. There’s a reason the term “anonymous coward” exists; people abuse the clear-voice, no-bias good that anonymity should be use for to instead act like assholes without any kind of repercussion whatsoever.

Anonymity absolutely makes bitchy, combative comments less valid. Someone who’s posting a complimentary, neutral, or even just non-belligerent opinion gets the benefit of the doubt for not wanting to make an account or even just being too lazy to log in at the moment, but I have exactly zero respect for anonymously-delivered shittiness, because yes, it is 100% cowardly. It’s someone wanting to say something shitty but not wanting to face any consequences for it, even those so staggeringly weak and inconsequential as “other posters can connect whoever said that to other things they’ve said”. Anon hate is literally the most pathetic thing on the entire internet.

People don’t always opt to post anonymously out of cowardice, as you say. Some people are just private, some don’t like sharing information to make an account when it isn’t necessary or just don’t want to be bothered to I guess, and some people like to be able to just speak their mind without anyone having preconceived notions of them, good or bad. Lauren Faust said before that she used to like to lurk online and sometimes participate in show talk (or drop teases for fun) anonymously. You can never know who you’re talking to, and you know what they say about assuming…
 
In any case, anonymity itself doesn’t make anyone’s opinion any more or less valid.

Man, now I really want Marvel to make a Penelope Parker ongoing series; that short was spectacular.

Excuse me? Whether IDW is a “good/bad” company (or “shitty” as you rudely put it) is an opinion, not a fact. Frankly, I like the comic series, dispite all it’s hit-and-misses, recent drama, and such.  
(Frankly, the drama’s been so bad on Derpibooru lately, we can hardly even discuss the comics anymore. The MLP-comic fans like myself, and even some of your fellow IDW/MLP-comic-haters are getting quite tired of it.)
 
Also, frankly one thing I like about IDW is, like Archie Comics, (Archie does the Sonic & Megaman comics) they’re one of the few remaining comic book companies that actually do a decent job on their licensed series, and let them last longer. (I like their TMNT comics to.) Most licensed-comics by say big companies like Marvel & DC don’t last long, (regardless how well they do) because they care more about their original properties.  
This is apparently why Valiant Comics’ old “Super Mario Bros.,” and entire “Nintendo Comics System” series from the early-‘90s didn’t last long, because Valiant cancelled every single one of their licensed comics just to focus on their original properties. (This might also be why Nintendo was reluctant to license to Archie Comics recently.)
 
So other comic companies don’t look highly upon “licensed” comics… IDW & Archie are the only ones I’ve seen that treat them fairly in recent times. Heck Archie’s let the Sonic comic series last so long, it’s now close to the longest lasting licensed-comic record. (Closing in on “Conan the Barbarian.”)
 
I’ll leave it at that.
