Maybe because it’s not a prioritary bug to solve. It may be annoying, but after all, the site still works fine.
 
It also happened that two exact duplicates generated thumbnails with a striking different contrast. Now that is odd.

They still haven’t resolved this.
 
If you’ll notice, the thumbnail for this image and the initial image that load when you click it, are desaturated/lightened. Only when you click on the image, on it’s page does it resize and give us the full contrast and the “true” image.
 
I brought this up to DB admins months ago, but it still happens with every grayscale monochromatic piece that’s uploaded here. Why hasn’t it been fixed?
