The intent of the image is very clearly regarding the canonicity of the comics in regards to the show. As obviously indicated by the single underlined sentence and the second post. There was no reason whatsoever to drag “the incident” into it when it’s painfully obvious this was not about that.
 
Whatever. I don’t care anymore. I did my best to attempt to inject a modicum of rational thought into this whole mess, and it clearly did not work. I’m done. This shit is exhausting and entirely pointless so I’m going to take my own advice and just say fuck it. I’m just going to go enjoy my fucking comic books about goddamn magic cartoon horse friends and the rest of you can keep giving yourselves aneurysms and trying burning down Bobby Curnow’s house because ONE of his writers is an SJW asshole or whatever the fuck it is you want to happen here. It’s not “unrelated”. Ted Anderson quoted someone talked about these events and then (briefly) talked about them. Anyway, you didn’t really answer my question. If this isn’t important enough to talk about, surely talking about talking about it is even less important. So why are you doing it?

Because the whole, nobody is starting arguments in Ted’s favor. Don’t get me wrong, both sides of the argument are being fucking idiots about this entire thing, but I’ve yet to see someone go into an unrelated IDW image just to hurl insults and scream about how much they love Ted Anderson.

You know what I find ironic about this? Just mentioning the incident caused people to get mad as fuck, when the post was more of an interesting look at how the comic canon relates to show canon.

Ted can be fired, but the people who are perturbed by his slights against his audience and the mishandling thereof can’t be.

Ignoring everything else, between this and Big Jim Miller’s comment here: >>797731, it looks FIM/EQG canon takes precedence over the comics. That’s a bit disappointing (or a bit of a relief, depending on your point of view). It’d be nice if there was tighter oversight on overall canon.
 
Take from what it what you will, but I can’t help but feel a little disappointed. It’s sort of like the comics are nothing more than official fanfics. Yes, it’s something some have been saying for while, but it’s a bit disappointing that it’s more or less confirmed.
 
It would be neat, basically, if there was more consistent quality control. I feel it would make people happier. Like, some storylines might have gotten rejected because they don’t really fit with the show, or the characters’ personalities. Long ago IIRC, I remember folks getting excited that the comics would basically supplement the show and vice versa. These days, while I personally find some of the comics entertaining, I don’t feel that way currently.

No, I’m legitimately asking. I’m not arguing about differences in opinions, or saying that everyone has to agree. I’m sincerely wondering why people are spending such insane amounts of time and energy being angry and starting fights when it would so much easier and just as effective to just say “Ted Anderson is a bigoted asshole. I’m not going to support his work.” and just leave it at that and find something else that they actually enjoy. What’s the point of dragging this out forever when there is no way for either side of the fight to ever actually “win?”

I’m more kind of intrigued that a company would stand so resolute in not firing someone in spite of overwhelming outcry. It seems like a bad business move, especially for a writer that isn’t the head writer. Hey, if anything it just showed the true colors of the IDW staff if nothing.

All I hear is a bunch of sore losers. You’re all so upset because they didn’t fire him so you’re going to hold this grudge against him and IDW forever and ever. They explained that he isn’t what you say he is and I believe them over a bunch of strangers who don’t even know him and are looking to a chance to be offended and play the victim.
