A little research reveals there are things like it in some cultures (and some people creating it to further their own ends), but that it wasn’t historically real in medieval Europe.

There’s not a lot of evidence one way or the other. There’s far too many references to it in old stories, for it to be without some kind of basis, but there’s no well documented cases either.

“Prima Noctis” never actually existed, you know. It was a medieval urban legend. Folks would claim other kingdoms had that custom as a way of calling them uncivilized.

Sorry Luna, but society has changed a bit since the dark ages.  
No more “Lords Right” to the first night.  
No more burning witches.  
No more church monopoly on education.  
No more separate laws and courts of each species of pony.  
No more duels to the death over the slightest provocation.  
No more rape, pillage and plunder when a besieged city surrenders (officially anyway).  
You know, lots of those fun little things that used to make life interesting.
 
On the other hoof, now we have computers and the internet, so I’d call it a fair trade.
