As much as I want ed punished for what he said about males. Look at this in the staff perspective. He is a guy who is admitting good at writing stories, perhaps one of their best on their team, and they worked with each other for awhile. I was offended myself. But would they just simply ditch someone for one verbal infraction like this?
 
I’m hoping this doesn’t continue, and I hope it doesn’t seep into their official work in anyway. We should keep an I on them, and so should they. If it repeats, could we complain about this to Hasbro instead?

We have no indication to the contrary. IDW is perfectly fine with racism and sexism and attacking groups, all as long as it’s not directed at particular individuals. That’s what their editor said, man.
 

I’m sure there are, and they have the courtesy or intelligence to not link it to their job.
 
This site and the fandom in general isn’t a business. IDW is. We aren’t the ones that go out of our way to insult, attack and belittle others; Ted, and by their compliance, IDW, are.
 
I won’t take insults and false accusations from others and then just smile and give them money.

Or that’s what you assume… We don’t know everything that goes on behind the scenes at IDW, and such. For all we know Ted probably did get in trouble for it, at least…

While I don’t like what Ted did, (and his Tumblr reblogs do raise eyebrows about his personal beliefs) I think it’s kinda ridiculous some now want IDW to go out of business, and such, just because of Ted Anderson… Like I said people on BOTH sides are going overboard… I just want the drama to end… :( (But looks like it never will, and now fans will be forever divided on the comics.)
 
It’s also a shame now that the entire comic series has to be “black-listed” & hated-on by half the fandom now. I just hope those of us who still like the comics, or don’t wish to protest them/IDW anymore will still be free to enjoy them…
 
Ironically for all we know there might be people working on the show who have opinions, and such we wouldn’t like, and such.

Agreed… I mean I don’t like the SJW crowd either, but the “Anderson drama” & “IDW protest drama” has gotten so ugly, (from BOTH sides) that I honestly don’t care anymore if he still works on the comics, or not.

Look. As long as IDW crew have at least disciplined Ted over this issue, and that this does not repeat in the future. Lets just put a lid on this debacle for now.

I may be wrong about this, but didn’t Sim let his incredible misogyny and other f*cked up beliefs seep into Cerebus in the later issues so much (to the point that women essentially destroyed Cerebus’ world and brainwashed his son), that even Gerhard admitted he only continued with the book because he was under contract with Sim?

Oh, right– I got distracted by Real Life and had managed to forget that Derpi was inevitably going to soil itself and roll around in it over this. Hooray.

Anderson dug his own grave, I have no sympathy for him. If he had apologised on the IDW forum he’d have kept his job.
 
Anyone cameoing a gender reverse Dragondicks (assuming such a thing could exist) would get the same or worse.

Yeah, but I’m saying the “Ted drama,” or protesting fans could make the situation worse somehow… Hate to be negative, as I’m usually one of the more optimistic fans on this site.
 
Also, as I said we don’t have proof either way that Ted is fired, or not. In fact as I said they can’t literally fire him, as he’s a freelancer. So the worst they’d do is just ask him not to contribute to the comic anymore, or turn down his scripts.
 
Sense there were e-mails from IDW (ItsThinking even said he got one) stating that Ted wasn’t going to work on the comic anymore, that might still be the case, as comics take a long time to make. So they might just be finishing up the ones he already submitted.  
So fans here might be jumping-the-gun a bit with black-listing IDW, and protesting the comic, and bringing up the “Ted drama” again over nothing for all we know.
 
As for Ted’s remarks in the image above, as I said he might not be aware that he is “fired” from the comic.  
As I said Ryan Drummond wasn’t even contacted by Sega that he was replaced as Sonic’s official game voice actor. He didn’t find that out until he called Sega after a long time asking if they would need him for the “Shadow the Hedgehog” (2005) game.

Lets just be positive. Removing staff isn’t the answer any more then putting more restrictions is an answer.

While I agree IDW & Hasbro should keep an eye on what content goes in the comics, (so a screw-up like Ted’s doesn’t happen again) I think I’d be more worried about Hasbro jeprodizing the creative-freedom the comics have. There’s the slight possibility they might go overboard, and put to many mandates/restrictions on the comic now.  
(Or the slim-possibility they might tone them down to just G3-style stories…)  
At this point the comics have more freedom then the show does, (like we’ve had storied focusing on Celestia & Luna, something we never see in the show, and will likely NEVER see in it) and I’d hate to see that freedom gone just ‘cause of ONE guy ruining it…  
So I’m not sure I like the idea of Hasbro getting involved to much with the comic. Maybe just a li’l bit, but not to much.

Yes, he can post whatever he wants on it, just as people are free to call him out on his posts & reblogs. And in today’s widespread internet page, following your favorite writer on Twitter & Tumblr is more common than you think. Neil Gaiman has over 2 million followers on Twitter alone, for example.
 
So believe me, the disseminition of information on the internet is much more fast and widespread than you might think. And even though Ted has, what, a percent of Gaiman’s on his Twitter and his Tumblr, Ted’s statements can spread to others just as quickly as if he did have those high numbers and people can see just what he dabbles in.

You might be wrong there. He posts info about his comics on his Tumblr, explaining certain scenes, references, answering questions, etc. That’s how I knew about him in the first place (yes, before you PMed me about it, Tumblr anon); I was doing a search for the “Trixie” tag, found his expanded info about the first FF issue.
 
I know I can’t be the only one that found out about him in a similar way, or people that simply saw his name on the cover and decided to see if he had a site or blog somewhere.

To be honest, I think Anderson shouldn’t be fired. I don’t care for his views: if he actually makes a good story, and good art, regarldess of his beliefs, he’s fine. The issue is ONLY if he puts his beliefs into his story and shoves it down your throat.
 
Involving a bigoted OC in a comic was way too far. But everyone makes mistakes. I like a qoute thats said earlier in this discussion.

IMO, to lock out anderson out of the comic is to be as bigoted as he would be to include an OC in it. He’s still a human being who still has to make work.
 
And to compare him to Hitler? Seriously. Well yeah, good art can come from bad people, thats the point. But I think he’s far from a bad person. He’s just opinioated.

Ah yes I believe Iv read something from another comic book writer about how they feel about the Enders series having been big fans of it and then knowing where Card went. Ultimately it’d be the same to be, Iv not read those books but if I enjoyed them I would just enjoy them and not care who wrote them, beyond going “man it sucks that Orson is such a dick”
 
Holy Terror IS a horrid book yeah, pretty much a screed by someone who’s let their paranoia run WAAAAYYY too far and turned into a bigot. But yeah, ultimately as much as I hate the person Frank is now if he actually managed to put out something decent again id probably read it.
 
As for Ted’s blog, that’s his blog. He can post whatever he wants on it, if I agree or disagree, find it distasteful or whatever just isn’t relevant to me, an I just don’t think most people reading the comics are gonna go check out his freaking Tumblr.
