The Source Engine came out the same year as Halo 2, The Sims 2 and Far Cry. The latter two are past their fourth games and they have like one or two games per generation at most. For reference, it’s the same month the DS was released, and about 10 months after EA switched CEOs to a person who’s never played a video game before to this day and cancelled development on all future SimCity 4 content because of the critics and profit despite it being a best-selling classic.

This is pretty good.
2) The source engine is kinda limited when it comes to good hair textures.

He did a few 3d models in Maya, but wasn’t able to get a good animation out of it before stopping. There’s a WIP in one of his more recent vids on his youtube channel.
Ah, yes, by that, I meant to ask why GMod and SFM model creators are unable to make better looking or better functioning models for the last five years. ^3^
When did I say this? Fuck must’ve been a while. Might’ve been bandwagon hating the KPShadowSqiurrel Models at the time. Most Engines could handle the new textures though.
Source engine might just not support those kind of models. What all you can or cannot do in animation sometimes depends on what software you’re using.
So, modders of SFM and GMod are incapable because…? <3<
It’s easier then you think. It’d take a flat texture and a good gloss/roughness/specular/arglblrgl/etc. map to get a good look.
Human Hair is also easy. Square Enix does it. There are tutorials for it, you mostly need good textures.
I’m rather convinced nopony will be able to figure out how to make proper horse-like coats and smooth human-like manes in 3D models. Mostly because we’re not staffers of games or Pixar/Dreamworks/Etc. with ridiculously-priced hard- and software for the terminally uncreative. :P
(Not everyone is that way, to be clear. Especially Pixar or Dreamworks. :3 )
probably not as fluffy. real horses have a flatter coat.
STRANGER DANGER.
I’ve come to speak with you again.
