At that size, I would think a carapace would be much tougher than it looks.
Where is size mentioned anywhere?
Assuming her head is roughly the same size as a human’s, she should be no taller than a 6’ guy like me unless she stood up straight.

Hive queens don’t have pulsating, bloated, festering, sweaty, pus-filled, malformed slugs for butts when they’re out searching for a drone to start a new colony with, though; that only happens after they’ve mated and start cranking out eggs.
see, thin and twiggy works fine for a predator, and I’ll be the first to admit that chryssi most certainly fits that role.
but she’s also queen of the hive, and for that thin and twiggy simply does not work.

Actually that’s not the problem here. Too skinny. Plump and insect-y might be okay.
