A sad yet touching scene from chapter 2 of my MLP FIM cartoon crossover story “Chaotic Order”.
 
It’s the scene where Ronaldo enters Equestria and visits Ponyville for the very first time. And here he enters the popular shop Sugarcube Corner where he meets Mr. and Mrs. Cake, who are absolutely wonderful to him despite what Kick told them about him.
 
They truly think he’s a good boy who just needs some friends. :aww:
 
And that’s where Ogie, ex-Delightful Child from Down the Lane and now Rocky’s sister, comes in. :)
 
:bulletgreen: Man, it’s been FOREVER since I’ve drawn any of the ex-Delightful children, and it feels good to draw some other KND character besides my OC Rocky. :)
 
:bulletpink: This is the first time ever I’ve drawn the Cake couple. I think they’re really awesome ponies and I LOVE the treats they make. :aww:
 
 
:star: Fun fact: In case you guys didn’t figure it out in chapter 2, Ogie has a HUGE secret crush on Ronaldo. And she HATES Kendall for not treating him right. :XD:
 

 
Ronaldo was amazed by the colorful town that was in this beautiful kingdom known as Equestria. After he dropped Kendall home, he decided to actually visit Ponyville for once, seeing as how that little pony known as Apple Bloom and many others seemed to always visit Kick and the daredevil seemed so happy.
 
Trying to put the events of his girlfriend being hard to impress behind him, Ronaldo wanted to just absorb the happiness and cheer this town seemed to have as ponies made greetings to their newest visitor, giving him compliments and friendly waves.
 
And every pony seemed to be among others…
 
Sighing sadly, Ronaldo gazed at a colorful shop that reminded him of the Candyland game he sometimes played when he visited his grandmother.
 
“Sugarcube Corner?” He read the sign before gazing at the structure. Everything looked so realistic, like he could tear out a candy chunk and eat it…
 
Taking a deep breath, Ronaldo pushed through the door. inside, he was amazed to be surrounded by so many colorful treats. Walking around, he gazed from tables to shelves, his mouth watering slightly.
 
“Hello!” Greeted a cheerful voice.
 
Ronaldo turned and spotted two ponies standing behind a nearby table stacking sweets on a couple of trays. One pony was female, with a bright turquoise colored body and a bright pink mane that resembled a cupcake. The pony beside her was male, bright orange with red hair. They each gave Ronaldo a smile, and he nervously returned it.
 
“Say, aren’t you Ronaldo?” The male pony asked.
 
“You know my name?” The boy blinked in surprise.
 
“Oh, yes!” The female laughed. “Kick’s told us a lot about you!”
 
“Oh…” Ronaldo lowered his head in embarrassment.
 
“Now, now, dear,” she assured him, “I’m sure Kick didn’t mean to say things like that. You appear like a nice boy.” She pointed to herself. “I’m Mrs. Cake, this is my husband Mr. Cake. We’re the owners of this shop.”
 
“If you have any questions or need anything, just let us know,” Mr. Cake said happily.
 
“Oh, uh, thanks…” Ronaldo said as he slowly walked around the shop. The sight of cupcakes stacked in a lovely looking set of plates caught his interest when the sound of the door bell rang.
 
“Ronaldo?”
 
He looked up when he heard his name, and saw a slightly short, slightly plump girl with brunette pigtails and shades. He did his best to smile as she gazed at him.
 
“Hey, Ogie.”
 
It felt relieving to meet Rocky’s sister in this colorful place, considering Ogie was one of those kids who could be compatible with him. True, Kendall showed slight disapproval of her because Ogie was a tough but sometimes shy girl who liked sci-fi novels and playing around when she could. But to Ronaldo…Ogie was one of few friends he had, and he truly liked her company when possible.
 
But right now…he didn’t feel excited. Remembering Kendall criticizing him earlier made his self-esteem drop a bit.
 
Ogie gave a silent wave to the Cake couple before walking over to Ronaldo. She gave him a sweet smile before reaching over to the table beside him and grabbed two cupcakes. Ronaldo watched her curiously, and he was surprised when she placed one cupcake on her head and the other on his.
 
“What are you doing?” He asked, looking up to see the incredibly frosted treat atop his hair.
 
“Something Pinkie Pie showed me,” Ogie giggled as she balanced her cupcake. “She said eating cupcakes is more fun after wearing them like a hat for a few minutes.”
 
“Really?” He chuckled.
 
“Well, you’re new here,” Ogie stated, “you’ll get used to these things and understand.”
 
Ronaldo tried to smile at her, but his mind was clouded and he averted his eyes. Ogie took notice of this and gazed at him worriedly.
 
“Ronnie, what’s wrong?”
 
No one but his mother would call him that. Not even his girlfriend Kendall. Thinking about her again made his depression increase.
 
Neither noticed the Cake couple leaning in to hear their conversation. Though it was none of their business, they couldn’t help but become concerned for the boy that was completely new to Equestria. Even though Kick stated repeatedly what a physics-loving jerk Ronaldo was, they had to beg to differ. Ronaldo seemed like a sweet child with problems.
 
“It…it’s nothing,” Ronaldo assured her, not even bothering to look at her. “It’s just Kendall is all…”
 
Ogie pulled down her shades slightly to get a better look at him. “She hurt your feelings again, didn’t she?”
 
Ronaldo finally looked at her. “Well, I wouldn’t call it hurting my feelings…”
 
“But she didn’t think before she spoke out at you,” Ogie pointed out. “Really, she can be quite critical of you, Ronnie.”
 
“Oh, Ogie…” He sighed sadly before averting his eyes once more. “That’s what it’s like in a relationship. Sometimes you need to try and please your girlfriend or boyfriend so they’ll be happy.”
 
“But what about you?” Ogie pushed. “What about you being happy?”
 
“I’m happy whenever she’s happy,” Ronaldo replied quietly. “I mean, she’s kind of, well…the ruler in this relationship.”
 
“So she thinks she can just step on you like that?” Ogie questioned, raising an eyebrow in disgust. “Really, if she was a good girlfriend, she would be more sensitive and be supportive of you.” The cupcake nearly toppled off her head as she gazed at Ronaldo worriedly. She knew she was getting deep into this conversation, but that wouldn’t stop her from trying to ease the pain Ronaldo had.
 
“Why do you even date Kendall?” She couldn’t help but ask. “She can be really mean, and she’s not so fun and tries to ruin it for others! Do you really love her?” She was a bit regretful of asking so much when she knew that was none of this her business.
 
But she just couldn’t help it. She really cared about Ronaldo. A lot.
 
Mrs. Cake’s bottom lip quivered as she and her husband overheard the conversation. They felt so bad for Ronaldo, sending mental thoughts of sympathy for him and his hurting relationship with the girl Kick described as ‘worse than a dragon’. They watched Ronaldo carefully, pained to see the saddened look on his face despite having a cupcake on his head.
 
Ronaldo didn’t bother to look at the brunette before him, having averted his eyes to keep from any tears that could possibly fall from his face.
 
“I don’t know,” he replied sadly.
 
Ogie’s eyes sparkled with sadness as she gazed at her intelligent friend. She couldn’t stand to see him like this! Without warning, she reached over and grasped his hand in hers.
 
Ronaldo was quite surprised by the action, but when his eyes met hers, he couldn’t help but smile. Ogie was just like her sister Rocky…kind, sweet, understanding, friendly, and be-
 
“Uh…” Ronaldo tried not to blush as he gazed at the ground with embarrassment. “Thanks…”
 
“No problem, Ronnie,” Ogie told him. “Now let’s buy these cupcake hats! It’s buy one get one free today!”
 
The Cakes immediately pretended to be busy as the kids approached them. Ogie paid for the cupcakes, and they both left the shop with smiles and frosting on their faces.
 
“Oh, poor Ronaldo…” Mrs. Cake sighed, placing a hoof to her aching heart. “Maybe that Kendall girl is worse than Kick described?”
 
“Never mind her, honeybun,” he husband assured her. “Let’s be grateful that there’s another girl who’s more appreciative.” He smiled as he gazed out the window, seeing Ronaldo smile as he talked with Ogie.
