It is original character not related to neither Twilight nor Celestia. She also prefer chaos like Discord. The only thing related to our ponies is Twilights color.
One thing I know for sure that it’s not alternative cat version of Twilight. Considering her role in the story (though limited) it would’ve been too problematic. In this way cat-Celestia made more sense to me, when we talk about her significance, but of course it’s pretty much original character.
Artist alread said in her note that she based her overall presence on her OC but also adds Twilight colors. There is no Celestia or Luna.
The cats are featured on like two pages. This is not enough to conclude that Baast=Twilight just because she’s more prominent
I’d say she’s her own thing but acts as Celestia of the group rather than Twilight. There’s also another purple one. Is that Spike? Would he be the same species as everyone else? The dark one is probably Luna.
Obviously there are not the same characters but they play similar part in the past as mane6 in the present. And Baast play the role of Twilight.
Only because she is.
Well hey, it’s not like the ponies themselves are completely unlike pokemon. Remember Rapidash-Twilight? And this guy?
