You know, Fluttermac and Dislestia were very popular since S1 and S2 and fandom demanded those ships. And what did the showrunners did? Meghan made an episode that created Cheerimac fanbase and episode that created Fluttercord fanbase(she basically rewritten Teddy Antonio script for KCaFO).  
I doubt that any writer will be influenced by the fandom no matter how popular the ship will be or how unpopular it is (just look at FlashLight being the most hated ship and the only one becoming canon).

Yes it didn’t have an effect on the shippers but you have the assurance that it will never happen.  
Fandom stuff can be ignored….but canon not really.
 
 
I wish it was like this but the cold, harsh reallity is that most of the voters wanted to know…and they were nearly all female.  
They were apparently really sure of it being a hint at something more (and gladly ignoring the other’s warning of it being just a apology) and then suddenly got owned. I’m actually kinda thankful for the doing this since we have the word of god that there is nothing more.

And I suspect a lot of people who voted for “B” did so in order for Meghan McCarthy to shoot down the Dislestia shippers. I know I would have done so if I’d known about that poll in time, anyway.

From what i have seen many if not the majority of celestcord shippers are female.  
Which is probably the same for any other discord shipping.

What happened a while ago? Dislestia shippers gathered around and voted for the B question regarding the Flowers. They got owned and destroyed the last fuel for their ship.  
Still, it shows how much they are shoving their ship into everyones face.
 
Or how nearly everytime they have to ask the show staff about dislestia.
 
Then we have of course the EQD drawfriend and comic posts, DeviantArt (one dislestia group is not enough, no we need to have over 7), Fimfiction (Again, we need more dislestia groups for whatever reasons), ILoveKimpossiblealot with her annyoing videos (one where she even shat at Meghan for denieing their “pure love”) and, and, and….
 
Don’t tell me to simply ignore it because it’s hardly possible. Most of them are ,as i said several times before, teenaged girls. I know how aggressive and fanatical they can be.
 
 
Like i mentioned, this ship has existed before and i managed back then to ignore it but right now they simply got desperate and increased they advertising of it.
 
I highly doubt it would be become canon but the staff has already began to pander the fandom a bit and definitely not every brony wants it to become suddenly a thing…

I don’t see Dislestia shippers crapping all over Discord x anyone else. (If they do it to Celestia x anyone else I wouldn’t know because I don’t go looking for that.) I do, however, see both Discord/someone who isn’t Celestia shippers and anti-Dislestia shippers who might not care about any ship crapping all over the majority of Dislestia pics. So I basically have zero sympathy. There is an exclude tag function, use it.
 
Personally I cannot comprehend hating on a ship, or anything, enough to have to go crap all over someone’s artwork with my negative opinion. I mean, I hate vore, so I search with -vore, I don’t go find vore pics and complain that they exist.
 
I do agree that Dislestia shippers got a little bit silly with the insistence that the flowers in the season finale were canonical recognition of their ship, but mainly only because there likely will never be canonical recognition of any ship for Discord, or, in the TV show, Celestia (comic book audience is slightly older than the TV target audience, that’s why GoodSombralestia was able to exist.) Still not an excuse for why people have to click on pictures tagged with something they don’t like just to inform the world that they don’t like that thing.

Considering how many times I got shat on for daring to like Dislestia, my sympathies for for in people in this thread are limited.
