BTW, I’ve heard that getting a driver’s permit in Europe is a lot more difficult than it is in America. How is the tailgating there - How frequent do you see it? I mean stuff like this:

Been driving since ‘96 and not a single one of my 7 vehicles has been an automatic. (I’ve done plenty of bumpstarting in my time too…)

Wow. BTW, Some Hypermilers bump-start a lot and do engine-off coasting for fuel efficiency purposes.
 
So far I’ve been driving since May 2011. I got the full driver’s permit three years and three days ago but I still haven’t driven a manual transmission on the road… Outside of imagining it, that is…

In Europe manual drive cars are, like, 95% of the total, and teens usually start at 18 with old manual transmission cars.
 
In the USA it’s the opposite, with boys and girls starting at 16.
 
 
Bump starting is actually pretty common for old manual cars, especially when the battery is down. Never did it (or maybe once?), because when it happens I’m the big guy pushing the car :I  
It’s easy, but you need common sense and must “understand” the engine. Once, me and a friend of mine helped this woman who kept pushing on the brake! =__=

Automatics are pretty common here and now, but there are some Manual-Transmission automobiles here and there.
 
Fact about manual transmission cars: You can start them without any use of the starter motor by a technique known as “Bump Starting.” Not so with an Automatic since there isn’t a clutch. I haven’t done it myself yet so don’t ask me how.

Trying to start, to drive*

Looks like a manual transmission, too. That ain’t an automatic shift lever or a push-button transmission.
 
… What’s she driving, a 1941 Studebaker? What kind of cars made in the last 50 years have the key on the dashboard, if any?

Don’t forget to check the blinker fluid, too.

Check the spark plugs and battery, Twi. Once it cranks, don’t let off the accelerator. Keep a small amount of pressure until it idles.

It’s my headcanon that Twilight is a total klutz when it comes to consumer electronics.
