I would much have preferred Tabitha to have reprised her role as Derpy, even if she had to tweak her voice so as not to “offend” anyone.

As long as she’s in the background and is used as an Easter egg or in gags, then I don’t mind if she’s permanently mute. But I wouldn’t be a huge fan if Derpy were to become a major supporting character without having a voice. Even Silent Bob spoke at points.

If she talked once there is no going back. You either plan a character to be silent to begin with or let it talk consistently. The damage of derpygate still isn’t undone.

Why do there always have to be people who ruin the moment? Can’t you just be happy she’s there? If anything, I’d say her absence made her reappearance even more awesome. I don’t care if she’s not gonna be in many episodes, it’s just nice to know she’s still around.

Well the fandom liked her original voice, but then Hasbro edited it out with a different voice that was more “suited”. I guess DHX didn’t want to piss off either the fandom or Hasbro so they didn’t give her a voice at all. So I don’t think she’ll be speaking soon. But if Flufflepuff can be such an endearing character without speaking a word, why not Derpy?

Since she’s her “replacement”, I don’t think, unless one of her crew gets injured, will appear in whatever episode the Equestria Games is.

Her presence made up for Spitfire’s deception. Seriously it’s shady city this season.

And I’m happy too. But there wouldn’t be much controversy if her voice was different than it originally was. I always though that her edited voice would’ve been good had it been here originally. Wasn’t much of a fan of the low, dopey voice.

I can understand Hasbro that they didn’t want to deal with another controversy, but I’m happy with what we got.

I feel the same way about this as I did about The Last Roundup - just the icing on the cake of what was already the show’s best ever episode.
